About Lyla
Hello, I’m Lyla! I am a Fashion Merchandising major at Belmont University, with a focus on styling and social media content creation. I love blending creativity with strategy to style curated looks and create engaging content that agrees with my audience. Since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to be a part of the fashion industry. Whether you’re here to explore my styling portfolio or check out my latest content, I hope you find something that speaks to you!
Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyla Biggs
Hi Lyla, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in Franklin, TN, just outside of Nashville. I’ve loved fashion for as long as I can remember, and a huge part of that comes from my mom. She’s a seamstress and dance costume designer. Watching her work taught me to appreciate the craftsmanship behind clothing and sparked my own passion for fashion at a young age. As a little girl, I would sketch designs in my notebooks, mix and match outfits, and dream about working in the industry one day. Fashion became a huge escape for me, taking me away from the harder things I was going through. That passion grew stronger over the years, leading me to pursue fashion school, where I gained a deeper understanding of styling, design, and the business behind fashion.
While in school, I started diving into styling and learning how to bring a vision to life. At the same time, I realized the power of social media and began sharing styling videos on TikTok and Instagram. What started as a creative outlet quickly became something I truly loved- helping people find confidence in their personal style and showcasing how fashion can be what you make it.
Now, I get to combine my love for fashion and content creation, working with brands, styling shoots, and growing a platform where I can inspire others. It’s been an exciting journey, and I’m always looking for new ways to evolve, create, and connect with people through fashion.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think that’s what makes the journey so much more rewarding. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is self-doubt. Putting myself out there on social media, especially in an industry as competitive as fashion can be intimidating. There have been moments where I’ve questioned if I was good enough or if people would care about what I had to show. The fashion industry moves fast, and it’s easy to feel like you’re falling behind if you’re not constantly creating or networking. But through all of it, I’ve learned the importance of trusting the path planned for me, and remembering why I started in the first place. Every setback or struggle has pushed me to grow, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything!!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in fashion styling and content creation, blending my love for fashion with social media to inspire others and showcase the art of personal style. I create styling videos on TikTok and Instagram, where I share outfit ideas, trend insights, and ways to elevate everyday looks. Beyond content creation, I also work in fashion styling—whether it’s curating looks for shoots, assisting with brand aesthetics, or helping individuals refine their personal style.
What I’m most proud of is how I’ve been able to turn my passion into something that fuels me creatively and helps others feel more confident in what they wear. Fashion has always been a form of self-expression for me, and I love showing people that style isn’t about following trends or what everyone else is doing, it’s about finding what makes you feel your best. I have learned to understand both the creative and strategic sides of fashion, from working behind the scenes in styling to building an engaged online audience on social media.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory would be playing dress up with my two sisters. We would put on our princess dresses and plastic high heels and go play in the dirt outside while also pretending like we were in a Barbie movie!
